The 21st century is the growing season for the internet, which has captured people’s attention in many aspects, such as the way they shop, work and communicate with each other. The internet reveals its defects as well as its merits; therefore, people cannot tiptoe around the issue.
When it comes to online shopping, people have complicated feelings about it. For one thing, overabundance of choice online endows people with a valuable experience, which expands their horizons. For another, some people may be addicted to online shopping and they may find it hard to have savings deposits even if they have built up personal savings accounts, which may bring a subtraction in the sense of happiness.
The dawn of the internet has not only changed the way people shop, but the way they work. In the increasingly internet driven world, people even claim they can’t work without the internet----which seems a bit extreme, but it is a sad truth. The working system has become accessible to people whenever and wherever possible, which means work has invaded and occupied their lives.
Furthermore, the presence of the internet, especially social media, has turned people into anti-social beings in some respects. Although online communication has its advantages----notably, enabling people to keep in touch with loved ones in different places----they shouldn’t forget the value of real-life human interaction. Some people are oblivious to what’s happening right in front of them as long as they are online.
All in all, the internet has brought more negative influence on people’s lives. It makes sense for people to rethink how to use the internet in a more positive and constructive manner.
