Several white concrete stairs lead to the front  glazed door of this small house. The envelope, those vertical and horizontal bars, are recycled from the old barn, and contains the newly constructed interior. With a plank extending a few inches above the door, it forms a half-open second story, serving as a simple balcony for its owners and a shelter for lucky travelers on rainy days.

The new base made of exposed concrete is connect to the old one by a band of blazing. This design enable natural light to reach the base, which otherwise will be dark and damp. The roof is of a simple angular shape. It edges out a few inches from the outer wall, to prevent rainwater from soaking the outer material.

The interior presents a stark contrast from its exterior. Oak panels glow under the tender yellow light, creating a warm atmosphere. The bedroom and office, which are the most private spaces, were created in the upper part of the barn, above the living areas and the kitchen. In the limited space, every corner was made full use of --- the armchair under the slanting panel is an excellent example.
