In the book sharing , we choose to share the themes of the little prince——taming and love.
To have a better understanding on the themes, we make a specific introduction about the love between the little prince and what’s taming, according to what the fox said in the novel.
The little prince loved the rose very much，at night the little prince put the rose under a glass globe. So the little prince，in spite of all the good will that was inseparable from his love，had soon come to doubt her. He had taken words seriously which were without importance, and it made him very unhappy. At length, they broke up. The reason is that sometimes only having love is not enough，we also need taming.
But what’s taming? We have cut some excerpts from the novel，particular in dialogues between the little prince and the fox. The fox said to the little prince: “however，if you tame me ,then we shall need each other. To me, you are the only in the world; l am speaking to you, is the only in the world.”
After talking with fox, the little prince went away, to look at the roses again.“You are not at all like my rose,” he said .“As yet you are nothing. No one has tamed you, and you have tamed no one.You are like my fox when l first knew him. He was only a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But I have made him my friend , and now he is unique in all the world.”And the roses were very much embarrassed.“You are beautiful, but you are empty,” he went on.“One could not die for you. To be sure,an ordinary passerby would think that my rose looked just like you—the rose that belongs to me. But in herself alone she is more important than all the hundreds of your other roses:because it is she that I have because it is she that I have put her under the glass globe; because it is she that l have sheltered behind the screen; because it is for her that l have killed the caterpillars;because it is she that l have listened to, when she grumbled, or boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing. Because she is my rose. ”
At length, the little prince knew what’s taming and he was aware of things that what is essential is invisible to the eye，it’s only with heart that one can see rightly and he was supposed to become responsible ,forever，for what he has tamed，the rose.
In a word , the little prince this book starts from the perspective of children to think about the world, to find what is love and taming.
Our understanding about love and taming is also based on our life.
Love is easy to understand, but taming is not. As far as l am concerned, love includes many aspects, not only includes sweet love between two lovers, but also includes the love between friends, families and so on.
As a matter of fact, taming is the whole process that a relationship is set between you and others. After you experience this process，you and the person who is tamed or who tames you should be responsible for each other.
Group-learning is a good example. For a start, all of group members aren’t having any problems about doing tasks.With time going, there are conflicts occurring in learning group, maybe one member would complain that she had done so many tasks, others didn’t .Or other active members would complain that someone who is unwilling to do tasks or contribute to group-learning.
At that time when conflicts appear, it needs all of group members to tame others. As a matter of fact, it needs all of group members to communicate, to express their own dissatisfaction about others’ unsuitable behaviour in group-learning. Then all of group members need to think out some ways to solve these problems. After that , all the group members will be willing to contribute their own efforts to group-learning and be awfully responsible for other members and the learning group. In this process, we haven been tamed by others and have tamed others at the same time.
Love has no end. Taming is a process.
