But of the heaven which is above the heavens, what earthly poet ever did or ever will sing worthily? It is such as I will describe; for I must dare to speak the truth, when truth is my theme. There abides the very being with which true knowledge is concerned; the colourless, formless, intangible essence, visible only to mind, the pilot of the soul. The divine intelligence, being nurtured upon mind and pure knowledge, and the intelligence of every soul which is capable of receiving the food proper to it, rejoices at beholding reality, and once more gazing upon truth, is replenished and made glad, until the revolution of the worlds brings her round again to the same place. In the revolution she beholds justice, and temperance, and knowledge absolute, not in the form of generation or of relation, which men call existence, but knowledge absolute in existence absolute;

但千穹之上的天国，过去不曾有也永远不会有尘世的诗人能做出恰当的吟唱。我将要说的亦是如此。当我的主题是真理时，我必须敢于说出真理。天国居住着与真理相关的至高存在。那无色、无形、无相的本质，只能为心灵——灵魂的驾驭者所观照。被心智和纯粹知识所滋养着的神圣心灵以及每个能够吸收有益于它的养料的灵魂，对瞥见实相欣喜万分。再次凝视真理，充满了喜悦。直到境界的转换把灵魂重新带回原来的地方。 在转换中，她看到了正义、美德和绝对的知识，那不是存在于被人们称为实在的因缘聚合的事物里，而是存在于绝对实相里的绝对知识。
