Recently I attend an english course for the goal of picking up my english which was discarded for several years. And I think it is a really different course from others. It gives us four steps to learn english well. The first step is listening. We can listen to an article when we are reading its chinese version and the english version at the same time. No matter how we listen to an article, any method will be okay if you like it.
The second step is reading. We should read it with emotion. Only in this way can we have a sense of substitution. And then we can keep it firmly in our mind.
The third step is finding out collocations which are really moving.
The forth step is interacting with other people by Using what we have learned.
The four steps can really help us to master an article very well.
What I have learned from this training camp is not exactly vocabularies,sentences and articles, but an environment Of communication. It also gives me confidence and interest of learning.
In the Past time, We usually learn english in a strange way. For example, if we want to improve our listening skill, we will listen to an article again and again, although we are not familiar with it at all. It is really bad for learning english. But if we can read an article in chinese at first, that means we build a bridge between chinese and english.
Another strange phenomenon is that We are eager to learn an Article word by word. We won't give up Any word. That really kills our energy And patience. We really don't need to do that, because learning english is really an interesting thing. If we make it too complex, we won't do it again. That's why it is easy to begin to learn english. But it is hard to last. If we can pick up ten sentences from Each article, And make conversation with others, our english will be improved very fast.
The most important thing I have learned from this training camp Is that we should care for others, not only ourselves. If we feel nervous When we're talking with others, that's means we are selfish. Because we put all our attention to ourselves. If we care for others, we should try our best to make others understand us.
So every day, the happiest thing for me is listening to Tracy's lessons and talking in our discussion group. There are so many people in the discussion group. They can share their opinions. Everyone doesn't laugh at others'mistakes. We prefer perfect character to perfect english.
To think deeply, The method of learning english introduced By Tracy is very scientific, because it complys with human nature. We should always fine out what we're interested in, and mix them with our daily life.
