The extreme winter weather hit the unarmed Texas with no surprise as energy regulators warned of the poor electric-grid operators and the climate scientists made human aware of the extreme weather decades ago. This kind of tragedy partly due to local government’s ignorance, leaving the state unprepared. The grim state of electricity infrastructure and power plants led to the deficiency of electricity, water and fuel. The situation of Texas reflects the climate change of the globe, which is much more than global warming but rather the occurrence of polar vortex. The polar vortex results in the weaken jet stream that enables freezing air to drift down to lower latitudes. Such radical change not only renders us more tricky problems but also requires us to invest fully and tactically in infrastructure developing.
