As a Chinese, the movie 《Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk》directed by Ang Lee really causes me kind of misunderstanding. The plots of the film are discontinuous even broken. But through paying special attention to several situations, the topic that director wants to show us expresses greatly. It is no doubt that the leading man tries his best to describe the conflicts in ones inner heart. He doesn't want to go back to the Iraq, because the war is so close to him. He is just a boy who has done some illegal behaviors because his sister was abandoned by her future husband. His father bailed him and called him join the army. Then he experienced a battle and the monitor the man who has taught him a lot was killed suddenly by the terrorists. He tried to save his comrade-in-arms, abruptly, a terrorist attacked him. With the strong faith of live, he won the battle and killed his opponent. Accidentally, it was photoed by a camera. Billy and his team became an overnight star and was given the chance to go America for a while. When they arriving in US, people around them showed crazy worshipping. Some wanted make their achievement as a screenplay, some invited them to the big party. Whenever a explosion has happened, Billy would remind of his monitor. The monitor once told him,“Everyone's fate is doomed.You are a congenital soldier.”
I think these sentences leave a impressive impact on Billy. To leave on her brother， the sister made great efforts. But in the end, Billy refused to leave on. He and his team got back to the Iraq.
