The overconfidence stopped the two little people from keeping alert and lead to the situation that all of them were at a nonplus. This happened just because the difference between their daily lives.
Respond2:
Admittedly, those things above happen over and over again in our daily life. Overconfidence may show us a false impression that we are good enough and we will not be worried about the future anymore so that we may be at a nonplus when we face a change that we are not expecting. I will use one of my own experience to illustrate my perspective. I had a lot of friends when I was in the junior high school which meant that I can spend all of my time with my friends without feeling lonely. Actually, l was so confident that I will never be worried about making friends or spending time with myself. However, things changed quickly in a unexpected way which truly bother me for a long time that there were totally different students in my senior high school class and I was not well-prepared for this situation. Shy as I was, I was not dare to talk to those new classmates so that l can only do everything on my own while I admiringly saw that some other students quickly play well with others. It took a long time for me to change and adapt to the new environment.
Changes can always make a person be at a loss except the well-prepared one, and as essential the confidence is, we should never let it grow without limit, or it will push us into a unexpected situation.
