A Song of River South

I watch the smoke river, while flower soul returning,
spotted fishes blow out waves while finches flying.
A clean laundry board urges the girl to wash her clothing ,
to wash her clothing, what night tonight will be?
The most pitiful itinerant, and sound of dewdrops dripping.

【清】王汝壁
江烟漠漠花魂归，
斑鱼吹浪芦雀飞。
一片清砧催擣衣，
催擣衣，今何夕?
露珠零，可怜客。
注：王汝璧（1741—1806）字镇之，号铜梁山人。四川铜梁安居乡（今重庆市铜梁县安居镇）人。乾隆二十七年（1762）四川乡试解元，乾隆三十一年（1766年）进士，官至安徽巡抚。王汝璧是乾隆时期的著名文人，以诗词载誉天下。本诗选自《铜梁山人诗》卷二十三第十六页 《江南弄三首》
