1. the village is on a river
on 这里表示“临近” “靠近” ，并不是在...之上
这是个很细小的点，之前没有学习过，也就不得而知，原来on这里还可以这么用
2. the banks of the river
bank除了银行，还有河堤的意思，但是banks，我查了字典，虽然单数也有使用，但是例句里面大都是banks of the canal / banks of the river 等，也是一个细节的地方
3. paint it pink
it (bookcase) 这里是宾语，pink是宾语补足语。
这让我想到了前两天跟Zoey聊到的，小孩子很小的时候读英文绘本，并没有给他们讲语法，什么虚拟语气啊等等，但是等他们上高中的时候，开始接触语法，一下子就能调用出他们曾经阅读过的大量的例子，这样语法点肯定很快就掌握了。我看到paint it pink ，pink是宾补的时候，很快就理解了。

5. 计量单位
a loaf of 一条
a bar of 一块
a pound of (不是池塘）
a quarter of a pound of 这个表达是我之前没有掌握的，四分之一磅，类似的 如果四分之一公里
a quarter of a kilometer of
6. the kettle is boiling
boil the kettle and make the tea
boil 这个词，还有上面的这个表达，以前我只关注了water 被 boil 不知道还可以kettle 被boil，然后沏茶，make the tea 这个定冠词the 一定要有。
