One week had past since I had finished my reading with The Help. I almost forget all the details of what I had read. Next time I will force myself to jot down notes immediately after reading. 

But nevertheless, I have the impression that it is a pleasant reading experience, since this book is easy-reading, concise, insightful, and intensive. Characters are varied and indelible. We had discussed the main characters in our chatting group or privately, and our thoughts diverged as well. We sigh for their fate; we laugh for their language and deeds; we pause for though for their future; we agitate for their sufferings. 

I guess this is the meaning of reading. 

Reading is a solitary experience that links all souls which are no longer solitary. And the good book or good story connect us like a string of pearls. 

When we are reading, we are reading with our own experience, our own thought and our imagination. But finally, we  connect to the author, empathize with the characters, and communicate with other readers. When we are reading, we are alone. But deeply in our spirit, we know that we have company.

Glad that I can read books with you guys and this experience would be memorable and valuable.
