大湄公河次区域经济合作是有澜沧江——湄公河流域内的6个国家，即中国、缅甸、老挝、泰国、柬埔寨、越南狗共同参与的一个此区域经济合作机制，成立与1992年。其宗旨是加强次区域经济联系，促进次区域经济和社会共同发展。亚洲开发银行是该控制的发起者、协调方和主要筹资方。领导会以为最高决策机构，每三年召开一次，各成员国按照字母顺序轮流主办。日常决策机构为部长级会议，下设高官会，工作组和专题论坛的。该机制成立20多年来，在交通、能源、电力、基础设施、农业、旅游、信息通讯、环境、人力资源开发、经济走廊灯重点领域开展了富有成效的合作。中国重视大湄公河次区域经济合作，积极参与各层次、各领域项目的规划与实施，为促进各成员国民生和福祉做出了自身的贡献。
Greater Mekong Subergion (GMS)Economic Cooperation
The Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS)Economic cooperation is a subergional economic cooperation mechanism involving the six countries located at least partly within the river basin--China,Myanmar,laos,Thailand,cambodia,and Vietnam.Established in 1992,it is designed to strengthen subregional economic ties and promote economic and social developenmg in the subergion.
The program has been sponsored,coordinated and funded mainly by the Asia De elopment Bank Its highest decision-making organ is the GMS summit of Leaders,held every three years and hosted by a member state on the baevery of alphabetical rotation.Policy direction for the program is discussed at the Ministerial Conference,under which meetings of senior officials and a range of working groups amd forums in priority sectors are convened.
Since 1992,substantial progress has been achieved in implementing GMS projects in key areas such as transport,energy,power,infrastructure,agriculture,tourism,information,and communications, environment,human resources developmenmt,and ecomomic corridor development.
China attaches great importance to the GMS economic cooperation ,and actively participates in the planning and implementation of projects at different levels and in various fields,in an effort to improve the well-being of all member states.
