Lord Buddha said, “You should not follow my advice simply because I said so.” Whoever wishes to follow the teachings has to go through the proper sequence of contemplations in order to make sure that what they are practicing is beneficial and meaningful. When someone goes through such training, one will never regret embracing the teachings of the Buddha. On the other hand, there are many who might blindly follow, but in the end, they may regret their decisions. In order to save all this trouble, it is important to examine artfully and ask questions in the beginning. But if we hold onto doubts even after we embrace the Buddha and his teachings then it shows that we are either not serious or our stubbornness and ignorance are shutting the door to liberation.
佛陀說：「你不該僅因為我這麼說就聽從了我的勸告。」任何想要跟隨教導的人都必須經過適當的禪修次序，以確保他們修習的是有益且深具意義的。當一個人經過這樣的訓練，他將永遠不會後悔接受佛陀的教導。另一方面，有很多人可能會盲目追隨，但最終時他們可能會後悔自己的決定。為了避免這些麻煩，在一開始就巧妙地檢查並提出問題是很重要的。但如果我們在接受佛陀和他的教導之後仍然抱持懷疑的態度，那就表明了我們不是認真的，我們的固執和無知正在關閉通往解脫的大門。
