Today i’m gonna share a book which i read with my boy when he was toddler. The book’s name is “That’s not my dolly”, it was an usborne touchy-feely book which was very suitable for raising the kids’ feeling awareness.
When i read this book with Melon before, he didn’t any much idea what i was telling him, although i tried very hard to be activated. But when i picked this book again, i didn’t expect to much interaction with him. When we read the cover, i said “her dress is too spotty”, he touched the girl’s dress many times, so that was the good beginning of reading this book. The 2nd page went to “That’s not my dolly, her shoes are too bumpy”. Melon touched the shoes again and again, this would make him clear about the “bumpy’s meaning”, my sound co-worked with the pic and the touchy shoes, it really helped not just him, but also any one, including the adults. The next page went to “That’s not my dolly, her hair ties are too shiny”, this word was very interesting, we just needed to shake the book a little bit to see the shiny side of the girl’s hair ties. The last page went to “That’s my dolly, her bows are so silky”. Melon just touched the bows as he did before. During reading this book, Melon found a mouse showed up on every page, but he didn’t notice the mouse’s reaction at every page, i thought he just needed time to find it, or maybe i needed to give him a hint.
After finishing this book, i strongly felt that the kids may have different feelings towards the same book at different period. So all i needed to do was to pack all the books in tidy, just let anyone can find anybook at anytime, when he read a book that he has read before, he would read it in a different mind.
