The graph below gives the information about the common activities children of different ages in the United States do as part of their bedtime routines.

The graph compares the distinctions of what activities American children prefer to do before their bed time .
According to the graph , reading and having a bath rank the top and second of the preference of little babies' from 1-3 years old ,since over 60% and 40% of them are interested in the two activities as their bedtime routines . By contrast , just less than 20% ofthem would like to watch TV or eat .Also noteworthy is that few( only 30%) of these little children desire to brush their teeth before going to bed,which is very harmful to the teeth .
In terms of elder kids,they show greater interest (up to 70% for aged 4-6 and nearly 60% for 6-8 respectively ) in reading before bed . Interestingly , they seem to regard brushing teeth as necessary ,with more percentages ( more than 40% ） than their younger counterparts . Children during this age period are willing to have a bath and go to sleep as routine activities . And normally , smaller proportions of elder children would watch TV or eat , both below 20%.
In conclusion, the majority of American kids below 8 years old feel like reading before going to bed ,while the minority enjoy watching TV or eating as their bedtime routine.
