《From Head to Toe》Eric Carle
From Head to Toe is one of the most popular books from the famous storybook written and illustrated by Eric Carle. A colorful and energetic board book and make the kids clapping their hands, stomping their feet and wiggling their toes......
Let’s start this book immediately:
Step1: Make kids sit down on chairs in a semicircle and make sure everybody can see the book. Then introduce myself to kids and let kids say Hello to each other.
Step 2: Show the cover of the book and piont the title and read: Today I am going to read a book: From Head to Toe.
Ask them: 1)Where is your head? Can you touch it? Where are your toes? Follow me to count your toes: 1, 2,3,4,5.
2)a.Let kids touch their Heads and Toes over and over while chanting the words, first slowly and then do it quickly.
b:Then do the same, adding shoulders and knees. Exchange with new words: Eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Then get them to sing a song ang touch each of our body when sing.
3)I am pretending as a penguin walking ang sounds: I am a penguin. What can a penguin do? And elicit “Turn my head” and also the action. Elicit the name of Animals :giraffe, Buffalo,Monkey, Seal, gorilla,cat, crocodile, camel, donkey...Elicited the animals and their related actions.
Step3: Extension activities:
1) Print the collaborative pictures of animals and and ask the kids do the same or different body parts’movement actions.
2) Use toys Qiao Hu, kids do a lot of actions. They enjoying doing the actions very much.
