buy除了“买”，还有“获得，赢得”的意思。
因此buy time并不是“买时间”，而是“争取时间，拖延时间”。

2.buy the farm
buy the farm并不是买下农场，而是一个美式俚语，表示“阵亡”，或“突如其来的不正常死亡”。

另外在口语中，(have)bought it也可表示“在意外事故或战争中遇难。

买下某人的沉默，意思就是“（做某事或付款以）封住…的嘴”。

常接story或excuse等。buy into sth也可表示“相信
