In today’s advanced English class, I have recognized Obama’s experience at Trinity. In his description, “the believers began to shout, to rise from their seats and clap and cry out, a forceful wind carrying the reverend’s voice up into the rafters...”Why the people at Trinity are so authentic and natural when they want to express their feelings? On the contrary, we Chinese behavior is quiet and silent in order to show our respect for the Bodhisattva. So,what cause this kind of phenomenon? Maybe because of cultural background.
Actually, the difference between Chinese and Western can be found in a lot of aspects, such as, in greeting, in personality, in the style of speaking and so on.The different expression in praying is just a tip of the iceberg. What I really want to talk is that difference exists everywhere, and we should have a lenient and respectful attitude to face them.
