Laurie learned about it by proposing a secret exchange, instead he told Jo that Mr.Brooke collected a lost glove from Meg. This secret made Jo sad. She began to worry that marriage would separate them, hoping to be a child forever. After a week or two, Jo's stories were published, and everyone was happy for her.
