1、And the predatory habits of these birds also protect farmers in other ways.(C20 Test4 Part4第6句）
昨天说到鸟类当中，以其他动物为食物的鸟，叫做birds of prey, 比如eagle，hawk以及owl，但是在其他动物，如果是捕食性动物，其实还有个单词是predator，也作为掠夺者来讲。今天跟读的这句话中，用到了它的形容词形式，predatory，掠夺性的，捕食其他猎物性的，也可以引申为以大欺小的，以强凌弱的意思。
2、Fatalities occur when birds alight on roads to catch and eat their prey and are hit by fast-moving traffic(C20 Test4 Part4第12句）
alight这个词比较有意思，它有三种截然不同的意思——
首先是表示点燃，着火了的意思，the house is set alight.
其次是表示从各种交通工具上下来，比如alight from the train (bus, plane)等等；
最后就是来形容鸟或者昆虫等栖息或停在树枝上，the bird alighted on the branch of a tree.
