Good evening! I know you are busy preparing for your exam week, but as your well-being counsellor, I want to give a short speech about your mental health. It will only take you no more than 5 minutes, so please pay awareness. Is that OK? Thank you.
Firstly, I would like to list some common signs and symptoms of mental health struggles that you should be aware of. When you are having problems, you may feel overwhelmed, insecure, and intensely anxious. You may find it harsh to keep focus and lose interest in everything, even including activities that used to be appealing to you. You may struggle to sleep, eat, and communicate with others. When you believe the above phenomena have affected you so much that you can not maintain your usual daily life, it is imperative to seek help.
Asking for assistance does not mean you are weak. In contrast, it shows your care of yourself. Having mental issues is just as ordinary as catching a cold, and all you have to do is look for medicine and cure it. Therefore, if there is a case, please get in touch with me for suggestions, or you may also contact someone you trust to talk about your troubles. Besides that, you could also try the following advice: sleep earlier, do sports, and have a healthy diet, such as 20%-30% fat. Foods such as blueberries, black chocolates, and salmon may as well help. Doing the above can help you grow new brain cells, increase the survival efficiency of new neurons, and emit beneficial chemicals like endorphins and dopamine. Thus, you can feel better to a certain degree.
Since teenagers are in a state of developing mind and intelligence, you may find pressures in academic, social, and personal aspects. To overcome the stresses, please note that there is no need to be too nervous about changes. You may see your score getting lower, your friends hanging out with others, or your thoughts being different. Accept the changes and remember that everything will work out for you as you keep doing the right things. Focus on study, keep away people who make you uncomfortable, and allow the existence of differences, then you will find that there is not that much to be worried about. Shifts are not frightening; life needs to let something in and push something out as a replacement, just like breathing, so be relaxed.
Nevertheless, leaving friends that do not suit you does not mean not making any friends anymore. Please be aware that social support can sometimes help you out of chaos and is important to your well-being. To cultivate a friendly school environment, you should try to be nice to others and offer your help if it does not cost much. In this way, you may feel the warmth between classmates interaction and have good moods.
To conclude, I hope you can maintain good mental health. I want you to seek aid when necessary, balance your anxieties, and take proper action to overcome tribulations. Thank you for listening, and I hope you get good grades in the coming exams!
