Alone holding an oil-paper umbrella,
撑着油纸伞，独自
I wander along a long solitary (寂寥的)lane in the rain,
彷徨在悠长，悠长，又寂寥的雨巷。
Hoping to encounter a girl like a bouquet of lilacs
我希望逢着一个丁香一样的，
Gnawed by anxiety and resentment.
结着愁怨的姑娘。
A girl
她是有
The color of lilacs,
丁香一样的颜色，
The fragrance of lilacs,
丁香一样的芬芳，
The worries of lilacs,
丁香一样的忧愁，
Feeling melancholy in the rain,
在雨中哀怨，
Plaintive and hesitating.
哀怨又彷徨。
Silently she comes closer,
她彷徨在这寂寥的雨巷，
Closer,giving me a glance like a sigh;
像我一样，像我一样地默默彳亍着，冷漠，凄凉，又惆怅。
Then she floats past，
她静默地走近，走近，又投出，太息一般的眼光，她飘过
Like a dream,
像梦一般地，
Dreary and blank like a dream.
像梦一般的凄婉迷茫。
Like a lilac
像梦中飘过
Floating past in a dream,
一枝丁香地，
the girl floats past me;
我身旁飘过这女郎；
Silently she goes further and further,
她静默地远了，远了，
To the crumbling wall,
到了颓圮的篱墙，
Out of the lane in the rain.
走尽这雨巷。
In the mournful melody of the rain,
在雨的哀曲中，
Her color has faded,
消了它的颜色，
Her fragrance has disppeared,
散了它的芬芳，
Vanished into the void;
消散了，甚至她的
Even her glance like a sigh,
太息般的眼光，
Melancholy like lilacs.
丁香般的惆怅。
