Both gender equality and wage equity are two major concerns today. However, the reality is not so rosy as most women in the world are still undervalued and underpaid.
Why there is women's wage gap?
1. women are relegated to informal sectors. They are engaged in menial works with unpaid wage.
2. women's lack of education and isolation in rural communities with fewer jobs available make the highest barrier for women.
How to overcome it?
1. Government should implement solutions to overcome the problems of underpayment or informal sector work.
2. Better education access and opportunities should be emphasized by local and national gov.
