Transcript for Keeping in Touch #3 - Meeting
David: Tom, good to see you. Thank you, thank you for coming.
Tom: Sorry I’m so elusive. So much on.
David: Oh, no, God, I completely understand. Um, do have a seat.
Tom: I understand your PA’s been trying to reach me.
David: Yes, yes, Alison. Um, she sent a message about the filming, I think I left it with Margaret.
Tom: About needing to fix the dates.
David: Yes, yes, exactly. Can’t just leave it to Alison and Margaret to make a film, though - actually, we probably could. Um, but it’s our show, after all. Yours and mine.
Tom: Well yours. You’re the television guru.
David: But it’s about you. But we decide things.
Tom: Yes we do. We decide this.
David: So, come on, let’s decide (nervous chuckle) what we’ll eat. They tell me the seafood’s very good here.
Tom: Yes it is, I know it well.
David: Oh, d-do you? Do you? Great, great. (pause) I was thinking perhaps filming over the summer?
Tom: (pause) Mm…that sounds about right for me.
David: My only problem is the family holiday, so, w-we’ll have to allow for that.
Tom: Oh…really? Yes, of course. When exactly?
David: End of July and half of August? The school holidays. You know how it is.
Tom: Not really. Miranda’s only two, so we can holiday anytime.
David: And do you - g-go anytime?
Tom: Well, we can, but we haven’t, really. Karen has strict views on childcare. She’s fearful of dirty beaches and dodgy kitchens, you know how it is.
David: Well - not - really. Perhaps we’ve been rather casual. (chuckles) It’s never stopped us, but then Rachel loves getting away.
Tom: Does she? Hmm. (pause) Where?
David: Oh, anywhere, really. Well, she feels trapped at home. I had to buy her a car so she could get out and about.
Tom: And does she…get out and about?
David: Yes? As far as I know. Well, she seems happy enough.
Tom: So, when’s your holiday? Then we can put it in the diary. As you know, I get very busy…
David: Oh, yes, yes, I’ll get Alison to give you the dates.
