Chapter 19: The Egg Sac
Next morning Wilbur woke up and looked for Charlotte. She stayed on the web with a sac beside her. Wilbur asked Charlotte what it was. She told him that it was the egg sac made by her the night before. And she told him that there were five hundred and fourteen eggs in the sac, which really made Wilbur happy and shocked. But Charlotte told him that she wouldn't see her babies, which made him very sad. Templeton came back, his stomach full with food, and took back a message that pig Uncle had won the first prize. People noticed the word humble in the web and they believed Wilbur would win the first prize. Avery also told this bad message to the whole family, which let Fern crying. Mr. Zuckerman was not as disappointed as Fern. He encouraged everyone to bathe Wilbur with buttermilk and made him cleaner and shinnier. Suddenly hey heard a voice on the loud speaker. It asked Mr. Zuckerman to bring his famous pig to the judge's booth, which meant that Wilbur might win.
