人类大量的使用对不，可以说，如果没有对比，人类就没有办法思考。通过对比，我们发现相似之处和不同之处。
“判断”将语言和人类所处的现实世界连接起来。if we are not able to see connections between and among things as a result of the act of comparison, our thought would be completely incoherent. we might have ideas, but each idea would be an isolated entity. we would not see how idea connects with idea to reflect the connections that obtain among objects external to the mind.
in comparing any two things, especially large, complex things such as historical events, we must be carefule not to rush to the judgment that we have a strong conparison(the two events are very much like ) simply because of the large number of similar characteristics we have noted. it should not be the sheer number of similar characteristcis that deccides the issue, but the significance fo those characteristics. a characteristic is significant if it reals sth that pertains to the very nature of the thing. it speaks to the thing's proper identity.
这里说了我这两想到的一个概念：权重。有些事情比重就是不高，但是权重很高。所以在比较的时候要抓住key significant characteristic.
