（九）
子曰：“吾与回言，终日不违，如愚。退而省其私，亦足以发，回也不愚。”
Confucius, speaking of a favorite disciple whose name was Yan Hui, remarked, “I have talked with him for one whole day, during which he has never once raised one single objection to what I have said, as if he were dull of understanding. But when he has retired, on examining into his life and conversation I find he has been able to profit by what I have said to him. No- he is not a man dull of understanding”
译文：
孔子说：“我整天和颜回讨论学问，他从来不提反对意见和不同见解，像个愚钝的人。等他回去自己研究，去常常对我所讲授的有所发挥，可见颜回其实并不愚钝“
