"It's just I hate people stop in the middle of his talk."
“我就是不喜欢别人话说一半而已。”你这样说到。
"Sorry 'bout that, but I'd rather keep my ugly head."
“抱歉啦,但是我还是想保住我这颗丑头。”他哈哈了几声,又咳嗽了一下。

“您还是到时候自己看吧,毕竟您要在这个要塞呆上两年呢。没准咱俩以后还会偶尔碰见。”
"You live here?"
“你住在这儿吗?”你问到。
"We live in Mole's Town."
“我们住在鼹鼠镇。”他抬手顺着路一指。
"It's over there, not far away. Sometimes I carry people from Mosscrook to the town, just like you."
“就在那边,不远。有时候我会拉几个人从苔溪城到这儿来,就跟你这次一样。”
你有点好奇,就顺着问到:
"Do you often carry people here?"
“你经常拉人到这来吗?”
"No, why?"
“那倒不是,怎么了?”车夫微微回头,用眼角瞟了你一下。
"I wonder why do they come here, to this border village. Don't you think it's interesting?"
“我就是想知道他们为什么会来这个边境小村庄。你不觉得有点奇怪吗?”你思考着,没有直视他的眼神。
"I don't know. I don't think that much. They pay, I drive. To me, they are no different from a sack of fish."
“我哪知道,我又没想这么多。他们付钱,我赶车就完事了。反正对我来说,他们跟一麻袋鱼也没啥区别。”车夫轻松地说着。
没过多久,马车停了下来,你感觉到车身歪了一下,紧接着听到了鞋子踩进湿泥的吧唧声。车夫似乎骂了句什么,但还是马上给你打开了车门。你拿起行囊下了马车,付给车夫五十个铜子,并向他道谢。他点了点钱,跨上车正要离开。这时你突然想到,征兵状要求你1月7日前到河望报到就好,你有点犹豫,不知道要不要提前结束这行伍生活前所剩的最后一天。
