How time flies!
Almost five days have passed in the long holiday. Daddy is away on business. the kids and grandparents and me take short trips around our neighborhood by bus. We went across Shougang bridge on foot, climed the mountain, went to a park nearby. There were not special views on the way, but for the kids, they found happiness in seeing a tiny leaf floating down the river below the arch bridge, a golden fish eating the moon cake crumbs, a spectacular view from a higher angle when held up by me, an ant crawling fast along a water hose, a statue which shows a man holding his knees is deep in thinking , a public toilet with a machine which offers free toilet paper when one has his face scanned, a mobile library where they can borrow books simply by scanning a QR code, there are plenty of exciting moments on the way for them and even more awaiting for them to explore.
I no longer feel eager to take them to some must-visit places of interest and no longer hasten them to our destination, now I feel each detail they discover on the way is just as meaningful as one object displayed in a museum or one scene publicized as classic. They stop and watch the things they are curious about or play around anytime and anywhere they want, and me as well. Without the hustling, we all feel more relaxed and this makes a holiday more enjoyable.
When we are home, the kids play LEGO blocks and other toys, and I do housework, sometimes I work a little. We all sit down to write something every day; I write teaching designs and maomao do writing practice. Recently, maomao start to pick up character recognizing.
It is a fulfilling and pleasant holiday and I need to finish writing 2 summaries for professional title application before the holiday is over.
