1 obey the rule vs children are controlled too much
Children are required to obey rules both at home and school . Although strict rules help them to develop good habits, I am concerning about some advert effects on their problem-solving abilities and creativity.
Admittedly, establishing(imposing) rules can be recognized as a effective way to make children accountable for their behavior and develop good behavior patterns. Unlike adults, children are not aware of the consequences of bad behaviors and they also lack self discipline. Imposing a rule can help them realize how to behave in a socially accepted way. For example, a child knows how to show good manners and keep company with others, which are exceedingly important in adult life. On the country, if a child can not prevent his or her from (if no rules forbid them )using bad words and bullying in campus, they will not know how to deal with social relationships in adulthood.
However, although rules contribute to children’s healthy development, rigid discipline can constrain(stifle) their problem-solving abilities. (sometimes regulation may distract their development if their parents who establish rules give priority to obedient.) They have to rely heavily on the rules before making decisions, and they will not able to solve problems independently. For instance, they may not know how to manage time themselves, as a result of strict upbringing. They will do not know what to do in their workplace without their parents’ instruction. They will not have job prospect. (they are not likely to achieve success in their career.)
In addition, obeying the rules blindly stifle creativity and they will not able to solve problems in different ways. Children barely dare to put their thoughts into practice for the trepidation of being punished due to their disobedient. If students are educated to solve a mathematic problem in only one way, few of them will consider other approaches. Problems in real world are complex and thus they will be helpless without using imagination.
To summarize, while rules can guarantee a orderly living style, there are more adverse effects when hastily applying them into all kinds of situations.
