Honest self-questioning is difficult. It requires asking yourself simple questions that are uncomfortable to answer.
Honest self-questioning is absolutely uncomfortable, indeed. About 5 years ago, I had a chance to be in the corner office. But it was lost to other guy's hand. I couldn't understand why the boss made such a foolish decision because I thought the guy was not better than me of course. Then my dominance orients me to a mass direction where I put some negative reasons on this thing, such as he must use some tricks to get the position. Slowly I did not focus on work any more till some day I came to realize the truth what I pursue is not the position but the work itself. Quickly facing myself honestly the results is that my pleasure is from my work not the position and in some fields I am far poorer than the one. So just let it go. Now however complicated the situation is I take everything coolly. Because I know exactly what I want.
