I had an amusing experience last year. After I had left a small village in the south of France, I drove on to the next town. One the way, a young man waved to me. I stopped and he asked me for a lift. As soon as he had got into the car, I said good morning to him in French and he replied in the same language. Apart from a few words, I do not know any French at all. Neither of us spoke during the journey. I had nearly reached the town, when the young man suddenly said, very slowly, "Do you speak English?" As I soon learnt, he was English himself!

知识笔记：
单词/词组：
- English, [ˈɪŋglɪʃ] / [ˈɪŋlɪʃ], [g] 也可以不发音。
- amusing, “引人发笑的“，an amusing experience。
- France, [fræns]。
- drive on, "继续开车；继续行驶"；drive to, "驶到"。感觉在这里drive on 和 drive to 都可以，意思一样。只不过，上句提到了作者离开法国南部，所以用“继续行驶”去下一个城镇，语句上更通顺。
- wave to sb, 向某人招手
- ask for a lift, “请求搭便车”；take a lift: 搭便车；give sb a lift: 让某人搭便车；thumb lift :拇指便车(向过路车辆竖起拇指表示要求免费搭车)。
- as soon as, "一...就...", as soon as possible用习惯了，不要忘了as soon as 的意思。
- apart from,
- reach the town,
- As I soon learnt, "我很快了解到；正如我所知道的"; learn在这里表示“意识到，认识到“。
- he was English himself. 他自己就是个英国人！
朗读重点：
- amusing，重读，
- south [saʊθ] 和 France [fræns]，th/θ/ 和 c/s/ 发音不同。同时复习下south [saʊθ] 中/aʊ/的发音
- drove on 连读，next town 连读
- had got，had的d轻读，为的是got的g读出来
- at all 连读
- reach the town，town的发音
- "Do you speak English?" 慢读，体现speak slowly
音标发音: [ɑ], on, stop, got, car, apart, not
1）嘴巴放松张大，上下牙齿全部张开，双唇呈圆形。
2）舌身后缩，舌尖离开下齿，舌后部稍抬高。
3）震动声带，推出气流发出/ɑː/音。像说："啊"
练习感悟：
Answer: Yes, the young man speak English because he is English himself. But he mis-thought the driver as a French so he did not say a word during the journey.
Thoughts: 每日精进就是确认自己的朗读首先自己挑不出问题了，开始前几遍朗读的时候，会因为特别在意一些词语的发音而导致另外的一些单词发音不准，应该是注意力有限不可能分配给每个单词，其根本原因是因为对于特别在意的单词发音还是练习不够，没做到习惯发音，可以做到少分配注意力的程度。
现在每天朗读是看着电脑上的文章朗读，换种方式：每天练习文章要打印出来，每次朗读的时候标注出重点。
