Savannah後來送給了他一本書，是關於孤獨症和抑郁症的。John知道Savannah為什麼會送他這本書的時候他生氣了，他接受到的信息就是Savannah覺得父親有抑郁症，他認為Savannah去看父親不是真正的喜歡他，接納他，而是想要研究他。他和Savannah吵了一架還說不關她的事。後來就氣憤的離開了。
前文一直沒有說John的父親為什麼如此沉默，也許父親真的是因為抑郁症才變得如此吧。
