The protest in Myanmar is continuing, with the army’s suppression, including firing live ammunition into crowds, becoming more vicious. The army hopes this kind of atrocity could deter protesters from demonstrating and while some are indeed scared off, other opponents of the coup are determined to fight till the end. They have called on people from various fields to go on strike, which is supposed to do damage to the machinery of state. And it is true that the state’s economy is negatively influenced and that the army is faced with an embarrassing parlous finance. As the death toll rises, it is likely for the army to start massacres before long just like the result of two previous protest.
