It seems to be the first time that I mention Joe, who is actually a pretty nice and friendly man. He used to work for the cafeteria downstairs when I still worked in the clinic. At first, we just greeted each other early in the morning as I entered the Q Central Building and gradually, there might be more topics to share even including some 'in-depth' ones like where people can find the yummiest egg tarts. Surprisingly, this cute guy said, of course in the KFCs of China, well, KFC vs Macca's 1:0 in this case...
It is such a coincidence that he had been to Dalian before and I can hardly recall how many times he told me how much he loves this city and wants to take another trip there in the future. I told him that I might actually act as his tour guide if my time allowed, considering that I was fed so well by him, lol! Yes, it is true, this generous mate had given me numerous bento boxes as presents and every time it was something of different style or flavor, which was quite to my taste! Hence I am really grateful to him for his help and care!
This afternoon we met each other in downtown and caught up with each other during the dinner. He was quite nice to invite me to a 'Joe and the Juice' bar, so I had no better idea but to give him a treat to a thank-you dinner. While we approached many topics spontaneously, I was convinced that Joe was a very good person not only because of his good manner but also due to his sincerity and thoughtfulness. There is only one thing I would like to complain about him which is he hardly paid attention to where the zebra crossing line was and he would simply say 'Zou la!' before crossing a road freely and I had to follow his steps feeling like committing a crime and stuff.
On top of that, I was also impressed by Joe's family members' stories. To be brief, his mother is a very hospitable person and has taught him the importance to be nice to others while his father let him know how to become a persistent and resilient person which could be exemplified that he had supported himself completing a business management study before starting a pizzeria business from scratch to a total success in New Caledonia. In addition, Joe's grandfather is a versatile talent who was a musician and builder and was rather grateful to those who had helped him before, like raising funds through performance tours for a Chinese surgeon who once rescued his son's life. Personally, I believe a person's parenting is of critical importance to his or her personality building.
At last, I believe Joe can be confident and courageous enough to pursue what he wants and should do in the coming future and sincerely wish him all the best~ Thank you, dear Joe!
