The story happens in town of Italian in 1980s’s summer, which is a sudden and powerful romance of six weeks with the view of a seventeen-year- old boy. He falls into a deep romance and sexual obsession with the twenty-four-year old Oliver when the latter becomes a summer guest at his home.
Though their love only lasts for six weeks, that seems change the life of Elio because his later twenties seems remaining in that summer.I still remember a commen of this book. At the end of the movie, Elio looking at the fireplace, cry quietly. We seem to see the whole summer time in his glistening tears. Their love for only six weeks, Elio use almost a life to remember, to wait because he is always being hopeful, because the beautiful feeling. To wait for calling me by your name and calling you by mine again.
I think some of us in our life May love or May not. Some of us can get what we love, what we want whlie some of us can not. But when you have it, will you choose to feel it, to experience it or refuse to have it because It may hurt and let you pain. I appreciate Elio's father said everytime we start a new relationship, what we can give the other become less and less. There's sorrow. You may hope that you feel nothing or you have never felt this. But to feel nothing so as not to feel anything-What a waste！Our hearts and our bodies are given to us only once. So his father even to envy him because Elio haven’t miss the chance to have that beautiful feeling. He said, right now there’s sorrow.I don’t envy you. But I envy you the pain. Elio still can feel It, to experience without a different heart.
I really enjoy this book and movie.
