Preface
Now I put the end to the modification of thisRendered Verson in this period. Maybe I will continue to Revise it in the following days. Just like what the David Beckham said that “The best ball is always the next”. Truly, the journey leading to the absolute perfection has no the end. For an article, from the words, phrase even to the logic of whole text, there is so much room left to be improved.
And now this is the final final Renered Version of this article. Also, I am much indebted to all the inspired modifications received from my teacher and my friend.
Respectively speaking, I thank the teacher of my Advanced English course for her laconic Revison. Still, I want to say thanks to one of my friend,Weimin, who offered the first Modification Version for me and gave me a lot of help in the whole process of improving this article.
一个忧愁满面的凡人，一步一蹭，发枯唇燥，行走在独孤朝圣路。他自己也不知道会到达哪个深山古刹，遇到怎样的绝妙神启。但，他的眼光里分明闪耀着虔诚的灼热。
A worried and doleful looking man, with dry lips and dirty hair, hobbled along the way for pilgrimage. He was almost bald. He did not know if he could arrive at an ancient temple hidden in the remote mountains, where monks may enlighten him how to be a better man. He was so eager and pious to welcome such thought-provoking moment that his eyes are gleaming the pious light.
又是一午后，凡人再次叩首前路了。七弯八拐，惊入了山阴深处。忽见一道炫目的光，慢慢聚成晶莹通透一莲座，赫然端坐一古佛，恰慈眉善目，悟道参禅。
In another afternoon, the man set off again after having a rest. Finally, he unexpectedly came to the deep of the mountain after going through the twists and turns. All of a sudden there was a dazzling light that slowly solidified into a crystal-clear lotus throne, on which seated a kindly buddha, deep in meditation..
“来者何人，去往何处，为何面露忧色？佛祖言之，半惊半悯。
“Who was coming? Where would you go? Why was you so worried?”the Buddha was a little shocked and said compassionately.
“佛祖，实不相瞒，吾乃此山附近刘家村人氏。常以物喜，以己悲，而今泛滥更甚。感念佛法森严，众生普渡，乃上山求解脱之道。”凡人言之怆然。
“Frankly speaking, Buddha, I lived in Liu village nearby the mountain. I used to lose control of myself, otherwise, I was easily affected by the surroundings. So far, the symptom had been more serious. I heard that the doctrine of Buddhism is strict and stern, able to save all beings from torment. That was why I came here and met you.”The man said sorrowfully.
“忧为何事？细细道来。”佛祖，满腔悲悯，语含同情。
“What are you worrying about? Please tell me in details.”the Buddha said with the bosomful pity.
“我忧烈日炎，涸我三亩田；我忧昨夜三更雨，淋我茅檐水潺潺”。凡人语出无奈。
“As a peasant, I am worried that my land might crack up in the scorching sun, and that my thatched roof might leak in midnight rain. The man said in embarrassment.
“此天象也，莫惊莫惧，可有他忧？”佛祖语出，略显失望。
“It was normal. You need not to worry. Anything more?” the Buddha said with a hint of disappointment.
“我忧出身贫寒，心远地偏；思散发弄扁舟，又恐风狂雨骤，美梦皆被雨打风吹去。”凡人越说越愁，山谷为之含悲。
“I just want to confine myself in a hermit and lead a very leisure life for the humble origins I came form. But I was terrified that the reality would smash my dreams.”While saying those words, the man was even more frustrated. His sad voice echoed in the valley.
“苍生可叹，人间多难！切记境由心生，望你及时了悟。不如意者常十九，不圆满方为人生。莫羡仙道，腾云驾雾，自在逍遥；且安醉红尘，红尘可醉，有待你细品慢酌”。佛双目平视，抓髯抚须，似叹道界人间的冷漠相向，互不帮扶。“可怜的凡人，细听这最后几句劝：尘世近来出一圣贤，睁眼看世界的第一人也，曾言：‘海纳百川，有容乃大；壁立千仞，无欲则刚。现，特引圣人语，掐头去尾，如此渡你，你好生彻悟：海纳百川，有容乃大，抛却杂念，方能遂愿。”
“How hard the human world was! Remembered that it was what you had thought before that resulted in the life you were leading.Things rarely go your way, but that is life. I deemed that you’d better not admire the leisure life in fairyland but just enjoy the life in the human world so as to find the beauty concealed among those affairs.”The Buddha stroked his beard and looked into the distance, as if feeling sorry for the estrangement and indifference between the mortals and the immortals.“Poor ordinary man, please took my last words as advice. A sage who was the first open to see the world once said that‘the sea could contain all the rivers and that was why it was vast; mountains had no desires and that was why they were grand.’At present, I cut off the second part of the sentence and added my words to exhort you that‘ridding yourself of many disastrous desires, your dream would come true. I hoped that could make you enlightened and then feel better.”
凡人彻悟，长舒一口气。“谢佛祖开导，我当谨记于心，继续行走人间，潜心修行。”话音落，三拜九叩，退山而去。
The man totally understood and unloaded his burdens with a sigh heaved. “I appreciated that you could tell me that. And I would enshrine your words and continue to lead my life in the long journey of pursuing my dreams.” He bowed and kowtowed, then he left the temple after his voice settled down.
