Leo Lionni reminds me quite a bit of Eric Carle. He has simple drawings with simple stories that are entertaining and hit the right note. This was made as a Collage with colored pencils and crayons.
Birds are trying to eat an inch worm, but when they find out he can measure things, they want to be measured. So, he measures tails and necks and legs and beaks. He then has to plan his escape. It’s a cute story. The artwork is nice. Very young children and above will enjoy this little tale.
A cute little beginning book story about making it through hard times. Sometimes, it’s not only about the physical things you need like food, but it’s also about hope and stories. 5 little mice are gathering food for the winter to come. Frederick soaks up sun, colors and words. He knows those things are needed throughout the winter. When they run out of food, Frederick shares his gifts and it makes the mice feel better.
This is a story about being ok with who you are.

The artwork is beautiful. It looks like Leo used sponges cut out like a chameleon with water colors. The trees and plants look great. I love the strong use of color in this book.
