Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 3504 New Cases, 33 Deaths
As of today, 3 504 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Alexandre Khojevanishvili, Head of Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press briefing held today at the Government Administration.
He spoke about the most recent statistical data and measures implemented by the Government of Georgia within the last 24 hours.
"As of today, 3 504 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case the total number of infected in the country has reached 76 658.
"We maintain a positive trend of the rising number of recoveries and namely 3 163 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours in the country, thus making the total number of recovered people reach 58 674.
"Unfortunately, 33 people died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, out of which 10 fatal cases were observed in Tbilisi, 7 - in Adjara, 10 - in Imereti, 1 - in Kvemo Kartli, 2 - in ShidaKartli, 1 - in Kakheti, 1 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti and 1 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti. Since February 26, 2020 the total death toll has reached 669.
"Out of 3 504 cases identified today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 1 232 cases were detected in Tbilisi, 603 -in Adjara, 619 - in Imereti, 122 - in Kvemo Kartli, 140 - in Shida Kartli, 94 -in Guria, 397 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 102 - in Kakheti, 97 - inMtskheta-Mtianeti, 76 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 22 - in Racha-Lechkhumi andKvemo Svaneti.
"At present, active cases have reached 17 289. 5 355 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 541 are stationed in Tbilisi, 890 - in Adjara, and 1 049 - in Imereti. Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 749 patients, out of which 375 are based in Tbilisi, 121 - in Adjara and 162 - in Imereti. Out of them, lung ventilators are used in the case of 340 patients, from which 168 are stationed in Tbilisi,88 - in Adjara and 30 in Imereti. 3 361 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels,out of which 1 551 are based in Adjara, 1 239 - in Tbilisi, while 282 - in Imereti. 8 573 individuals are getting medical treatment at home.
"2 425 individuals are in quarantine,out of which 418 are based in Tbilisi, 1 309 - in Adjara and 32 - in Imereti.
"As of today, 43 263 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 6 671 are based in Tbilisi, 18 460 - in Adjaraand 4 921 - in Imereti," announced Alexandre Khojevanishvili.
