Swimming record: you are still you

When I finished swimming today and left the water, I saw a lifeguard walking in my direction. So I said hello to him and asked him if I had improved my swim technique or not.

He replied with a little hesitation ‘yes, you have improved, but you are still you’.

Then I asked him what my problem was.

He explained very patiently how my head and my hands should operate.

I went back into the water and tried to swim as he suggested.

I felt my speed and action had improved.

I hope tomorrow I can practice some more and get real improvements.

As I was leaving the changing room a small group of young girls with their teacher walked in. These young girls were about 6 or 7 years old and all wore a red dress. Obviously, it’s their school uniform.

I noticed that these girls were from different races: Asian, African and European. How lucky they are. In their early life they have a chance to learn swimming properly and grow up in an international environment.
