On May 22, 2021. It’s a rainy Saturday. I got the news that Yuan  Longping , “father of hybrid rice”, passed away in a hospital of Changsha, central China’s Hunan province, at 13:07 BJT. I really astonished. When I realized it’s true, I can’t speak out my sad feelings. I know the great grandfather from my books, TV, and internet. I know he is a very important man for our people, for China, and the world. With only 7% of the world’s arable land, feed 23% population of the world, it’s a great achievement for the world. In the daily life, grandfather Yuan was a very kind and humorous teacher. But I’m no fortune to see the great man when he alive. People always ignore the people who love you, who truly care you when they alive, but regret and sad when they leave forever.  I hope I can give you more love，my dearest baby, my dear parents, and the people I love. No regret.
