Lots of scientists are studying robots today. Many robots don’t always look like people. Some are like big machines, and some are nothing but long arms. However, modern robots are smart. Some can solve problems on their own.
今天很多科学家都在研究机器人。很多机器人看起来并不总是人的模样，有些像大型机器，有些只是一条长臂。然而，现代机器人是聪明的，有些可以自己解决问题。
Robots are more and more useful and important in our life. They help us a lot. In factories, robots can help people do a lot of work. They work faster and do not need a rest. People will feel bored if they do the same job again and again, but robots will not. They can work in some dangerous places where people cannot.
机器人在我们的生活中越来越有用，越来越重要，对我们帮助很大。在工厂里，机器人可以帮助人们做很多工作。它们工作更快，不需要休息。如果一遍一遍做同样的工作，人会感到无聊，但机器人不会。它们可以在一些危险的地方工作，而人不能。
Robots are useful in our homes, too. They can help us do some cooking. They can help the blind people read newspapers, help the old people move some heavy things and so on. If we have some other problems, we can also ask them for help.
机器人在家庭里也有用。可以帮我们做饭，帮盲人看报纸，帮老人搬一些重物等等。如果我们有其他问题，也可以向它们寻求帮助。
However, robots are not so clever as people. They cannot think like us. If we do not “teach” them how to do things first, they can do nothing.
然而，机器人不如人聪明。它们不能像我们一样思考。如果我们不先“教会”它们如何做事，它们就什么也做不了。
It’s possible that we will have our own robots, and they will help us to do more things in the future.
未来我们可能拥有自己的机器人，帮助我们做更多的事情。
