Whiskey
American whiskey is distilled from a fermented mash of cereal grain. It must have the taste, aroma, and other characteristics commonly attributed to whiskey.
Some types of whiskey listed in the United States federal regulations[8] are: Bourbon whiskey—made from mash that consists of at least 51% corn (maize) and aged in new charred oak barrels. Corn whiskey—made from mash that consists of at least 80% corn and is not aged, or, if aged, is aged in uncharred or used barrels. Malt whiskey—made from mash that consists of at least 51% malted barley Rye whiskey—made from mash that consists of at least 51% rye Rye malt whiskey—made from mash that consists of at least 51% malted rye Wheat whiskey—made from mash that consists of at least 51% wheat These types of American whiskey must be distilled to no more than 80% alcohol by volume, and barrelled at no more than 125 proof.
Only water may be added to the final product; the addition of colouring or flavouring is prohibited. These whiskeys must be aged in new charred-oak containers, except for corn whiskey which does not have to be aged. If it is aged, it must be in uncharred oak barrels or in used barrels. Corn whiskey is usually unaged and sold as a legal version of moonshine.
Bourbon
Bourbon whiskey is a type of American whiskey, a barrel-aged distilled spirit made primarily from corn. The name derives from the French Bourbon dynasty, although the precise inspiration for the whiskey's name is unsettled; contenders include Bourbon County in Kentucky and Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Bourbon has been distilled since the 18th century.The use of the term "bourbon" for the whiskey has been traced to the 1820s, and the term began to be used consistently in Kentucky in the 1870s. While bourbon may be made anywhere in the United States, it is strongly associated with the American South, and with Kentucky in particular. As of 2014, the distillers' wholesale market revenue for bourbon sold within the U.S. is about $2.7 billion, and bourbon makes up about two-thirds of the $1.6 billion of U.S. exports of distilled spirits.
When American pioneers pushed west of the Allegheny Mountains following the American Revolution, the first counties they founded covered vast regions. One of these original, huge counties was Bourbon, established in 1785 and named after the French royal family. While this vast county was being carved into many smaller ones, early in the 19th century, many people continued to call the region Old Bourbon.
Located within Old Bourbon was the principal port on the Ohio River, Maysville, Kentucky, from which whiskey and other products were shipped. "Old Bourbon" was stencilled on the barrels to indicate their port of origin. Old Bourbon whiskey was different because it was the first corn whiskey most people had ever tasted. In time, bourbon became the name for any corn-based whiskey.

So may its bark,so may its wood;

Leaves for smooth and bark for rough, Leaves and bark may be tree enough. Some giant trees have bloom so small. They might as well have none at all.
Late in life I have come on fern.
Now lichens are due to have their turn. I bade men tell me which in brief, Which is fairer,flower or leaf.
They did not have the wit to say, Leaves by night and flowers by day.
Leaves and bark,leaves and bark,
To lean against and hear in the dark. Petals I may have once pursued.
Leaves are all my darker mood.

Comments for the poem
@王淼 This poem mainly talks about there elements of the tree: leaves, branches and flowers. If we think it deeper, we will find that it is meaningful. The author means that the flower may be better looking, but it's just an empty shell without inner beauty, and the leaves may be less pretty,but it has good insides and therefore can be trusted better. Therefore, I believe that when you try to know something, do not focus on the surface, but think of it inside.
@赵亚丽 I think this poem is about personal development, and growth, because we are all substance and exist just like a tree always has leaves and bark as its basic component, but with added nutrition and timing of seasons it bears fruit and blossoms, the same way with time management and education or hard work we too as humans can accomplish our maximum potential and become like a tree with flowers. However, the poet does say that some may even prefer the simple life and not want to reach their max and are happy with just leaves and bark, because after all it is still a tree.
