I have been watching a series of Japanese documentary episodes on foods. I really enjoy watching stories and introductions for food, how people grow vegitables, catch fish and cook them.
I just watched another episode on Sakura Shrimps. Sakura Shrimps are tiny shrimps that look almost transparent in pink, and can be found in one particular gulf in Japan. I enjoyed watching how people catch them and work hard to find ways to transfer them to different areas across the country.
I love how Japanese cook their food with great care, and stylize it in an elegant way. The only one thing is that I'm not a big fan for eating things alive. I can't bear it when the cook makes sushi rolls with living Sakura Shrimp, so that the eaters can enjoy the subtle sweetness of the shrimps. They might taste good, but I personally think it too sad and cruel.
