The lamplighter put out his lamp and lighted it again every day. Due to "from year to year the planet has turned more rapidly and the orders have nor been changed" , once every minute he has to lighte his lamp and put it out.
The lamplighter represents people who is conservative, who is afraid to change and remain in a present condition.
