When I was a grade-three student in primary school, I first knew the existence of English from one of my Chinese teacher's jokes. It was so entertaining that I couldn't help bursting into laughter. At that instance, an idea flashed into my mind that if only I got the hang of it! In that circumstance, I would be capable to tell funny English stories or jokes to amuse others.
Three years later, I turned into a middle school student in 2003. It was at that time that I initiated to learn English. Fortunately, I met my first English teacher who was extremely strict with us. What's more, she was serious in the class, never smiling, because of which, we were afraid of her . Every day before her lesson, she would check whether we had reviewed the lesson or not. If we hadn't finished reviewing, she would punish us .As a consequence, we struggled hard in English and eventually achieved great academic performance. Being the English representative, I worked even harder. I previewed the lesson before the class, listened to the teacher carefully in the class as well as reviewed the lesson after class. I would make full use of every opportunity to imitate the record of the textbook in the tapes. With my great effort in English, I was chosen to be one of the six students so as to compete in the Olympic English Competition in Grade Two. However, what I did didn't satisfy my teacher owning to my low scores in it. I felt deeply sorry for my teacher. After two years together, she resigned because she continued to gain her bachelor's degree. I missed her so much! May all the good things bless her!
As time went on, I became a senior student in 2006. What upsetted me most was that I didn't specialize in English. I often got approximately 80 scores in the exam, the full marks of which was 150. Once an English teacher from Crazy English came to my school, advertising his Crazy English Series. I was completely attracted by the charm of his spoken English. Consequently, I asked my parents to purchase a set of it for me. My parents were supportive of me and bought it . I felt appreciated for my parents and made up my mind to study hard. I read those books day in and day out. As the old saying goes,“Nothing is impossible if you set up your mind to do it.”, finally I made it. I made great progress in it. I could get better scores, which was around 120. I was content with my performance, wishing to obtain good marks in the College Entrance Examination.
After three years in senior high school, I was admitted to HanShan Normal University where I majored in English Education.I spent four years continuing to learn it. Luckily I passed the TEM 4 and TEM 8 . I took an active part in many competions. I got the second prize in the English Writing Competion at school; I got the third place in the College English Olympic Competion...... In the end I graduated from this university and expectedly I became an English teacher in 2013.
People’s ideas towards teaching vary from person to person. on the one hand, some hold the view that teaching is a bit of grind. on the other hand,a great many people insist that teaching is an art and enjoy themselves in the process of teaching. As for me ,the value of teaching lies in what you take it for.
Years ago when my parents asked me whether i would be fond of being a teacher in the future,i faltered out a reply or merely parried a question. When my mother asked the same question again,I shook my head to show my unwillingness with firm determination. Into a bargain,my mother felt more than downhearted. I should think before I leap on account of my parents’ long-cherished aspirations, especially for my father. Flicking through the English books promptly,I initiate to ponder about what I should do if purposed teaching is my permanent job . To start with, I must have a good command of my major. The more knowledge I can handle ,the better I’ll be. As a result, I should grind away at study and cudgel my brain memorizig the words. what’ more,I should put the theory into practice. I truly believed only then can I communicate well with my students.
Up to now, I have been an English teacher for five years. I gave birth to my daughter last year, which made me suffer from hypomnesia. The words in my mind decreased rapidly. Last month my friend enquired me to think of an English word pronouncing like“Ge Ke He”, and yet I was willing to do it but unable to do so. I hunger for more words to help my friend. In addition, I long to grow up together with my daughter. That's why I intend to join the 007-Write Or Out plan.
Study hard right now,and don't indulge yourself in the wildest fantasy. An entirely new era ,the era of knowledge economy ,is beckoning us on!The days accompanied by English will make us happy!
