Respectable President Leuthard and Mr Hausin,
Distinguished Heads of State and Government, Deputy Heads of State and Your Spouses,
Honorable Heads of International Organizations,
Your Excellency Mr. and Ms.Schwab,
It is a great honor to be here in beautiful Davos. Though being a small town on the Alps Mountains, Davos is a vital window, through which people are able to observe the world economy. In here, gathers people from all over the world. With wisdom generated from the collision of ideas, high yields are produced on relatively low investment. In my personal view, this could be called “the Schwab Economy”.
“This is the best of times, this is the worst of times.” These are the words that English writer Charles Dickens used to describe the world after the Industrial Revolution. The world today is also in contradictions. On the one hand, as material wealth is accumulating and technology changing rapidly, human civilization has developed to its highest in history. On the other, regional conflicts, terrorism, waves of refugees still challenge the world from time to time; with poverty, unemployment and the widening gap between the rich and poor, the world is facing rising uncertainties.
Today, I want to share my thoughts on the world economy from the point of economic globalization.
