Thank You
The weather is scorching today,
Yet I feel a chill of neglect.
Truth is, my heart is aching.
So I ask it,
"What are you sad about?"
"Is it because you didn’t receive an award?"
"Is it because you weren’t given recognition?"
"Or is it that your self-proclaimed arrogance
Didn't get the response you imagined?"
Perhaps it is all of these.
Right now, I can hardly sort it out!
My heart is in a turmoil.
Because when I surrender my inner self,
I burden myself with too much expectation.
Every night, I sleep with hope as my pillow,
Dreaming of desire blooming into flowers.
But when the dream shatters,
I stand rooted in place,
Feeling dazed,
And doubting—
Has something gone wrong somewhere?
Clearly, I have walked for so long,
Yet somehow, I am still standing right here.
That surging pain of mine
Still rides the steps of the wind,
Skimming across the ocean of my heart,
Rising and falling.
Let it dance, I suppose.
Fortunately, Zhao Zhao was there with me,
Sharing that unforgettable moment.
Her tender heart is a gentle hand,
Softly tugging at the hem of the wind’s coat.
With her soft gaze,
Quietly,
Ever so quietly,
She catches the fierce wave
That just came crashing down.
