Berlin's image——losing its cool

This is from Jan.2015the economist.

The euro was losing its power in the world and was weaker than before. The Brexit and the economic crisis erupting in Greece have strongly tumbled down the integrity of Europe. Also, plenty of mistake made by German deprived the glory of its capital—Berlin. That’s why the new nostalgia suggests that Berlin’s best days may already be behind it.

Although Berlin is still fascinating and intriguing to some foreigners, locals are annoyed by throngs of expats and westerners gentrifying formerly edgy neighbourhood like Prenzlauer Berg. Moreover, rent have been rising for years and notorious construction has made much of the city unusable and ungainly.

From where I stand, currently, the euro looks very tired. Its position in the world was threaten by the economic crisis and other political factors.
