BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD
Sometimes things get hopelessly awful and you are powerless over something happening unexpectedly and uncontrollable as if all the magic got lost when you kick up the leaves. Sometimes it seems that you have tried all out but the things you wish to change keep coming back to the original shape as nothing's worth your effort since no matter how many times Sisyphus works hard on the stone rolling up the hill, it will be back to the foot of the hill finally. Sometimes you would like to make an alteration and do something about the situation to make it better and ideal toward what you have expected, but the dark side in majority always has its way to make you sluggish and unwilling to act as your original intention.
But we need to stick to the original plan no matter what we have come across half way of the journey. To get this done, we need to keep the three steps in mind.
Take my experience in chatting with foreigners for example. I have come across a disputable on line chatting platform lately, where people of vulgar taste, in disguise of various forms, and asking for things inappropriate haunt around.
Per online comment, it is not an ideal platform since it will be a waste of time to keep running into the wrong guys with nasty topic, finding someone is not the real foreign guys but someone in disguise. It is full of crisis, too, as some of the online information shows unpleasant experiences from persons applying this chatting tool who get fooled by cheaters preciously.
To get healthy conversation and real friend from somewhere of varying quality. I stick to the following three rules.
1 Be clear of the original intention
Always know what I am here for and what kind of things I want. I am here to learn German by talking with people with German as native language, to improve my reaction in communication in English by texting like a native speak, to make friends in high quality with people around the world, to know how to bring about conversation naturally and confidently, be the active and positive part of the platform without being addicted to it, etc. So I will come up with ways to stand against anything conflicting with the intention above. Say, I will set certain period of time fixed for communication only instead of staying on line the whole day to avoid any inefficiency or addiction caused by it. I will stay away from dirty topics and people don't feel like talking to me. I will keep moments updated with interesting news and useful info to attract people with the same taste. Search the pals suitable based on my need, teaching English speaking persons with Chinese to improve my English, talking with German or German speaking persons to learn it, and talking with people enjoying reading for book list recommended.
2 Keep acting the way I am and attract someone I would like to be with
Keep doing what I could to stick to the original purpose. Moreover, keep doing it in high spirit and in good mood. Drop the thing which may rob me of my time, energy and positive state of mind. Think like the other party, getting to know what will make someone like him or her eager to talk, and start the conversation in the favor of the other side to welcome the friendly return of kindness, patience, and humor same as yours.
3 Let the things negative and disagreeable pass me by
It is impossible to stay away from negative things somewhere like this people with evil intention may take advantage of your sympathy, curiosity and kindness. Leave it behind once I identify it and let it pass me by without causing any bad emotion. Be highly vigilant and be the most intractable prey for the frauds. Have amnesia to something said offensive or disrespectful by others and go straight to the next communication potentially meaningful.
Be frank and sincere no matter what happens and even peaceful enough to talk to the cheater in a quick-witted way decently.
